A new way of working

Let’s imagine that you are reading this blog on your desktop computer, and not your mobile.

Your desktop is cluttered with documents created by you or other people, with a number of different versions of the same document. You may also have a number of folders sitting on your desktop, and inside are a collection of sub-folders.

Every time you need to urgently access a document, you scan your desktop, and if you can’t find the document or report, your complex set of folders need to be scanned.

You might even run a search in your email platform to see if you have the latest and correct version of the document, as someone else in the organisation may have changed it.

Fifteen minutes later, you find the document, and then you can start working. You’ve probably lost half an hour and maybe this happens three or four times a week. That’s more than two hours a week down the drain, maybe more. You are also losing peace of mind, and the ability to be productive and create valuable work.

The time wastage equation is only amplified if you have to delve inside your company’s shared folders or network drives, which are normally a mess as they have turned into dumping grounds of information chaos.

People are drowning in information and they are chained to corporate email. We need a fundamental overhaul of the way we work. As information workers, people need to store, find, and share documents with ease and speed. That’s the goal of Xendle.

Now imagine the benefits of being able to find any document or file across your business within seconds and having the confidence that it’s the right version?

What if you could do this from anywhere, any time and from any device? How about being notified when information you need becomes available? Is that nirvana, and would that unleash you and your teams to be productive and happy?

This is how the Xendle story begins but gaining control of the huge amount of information we’re faced with is only half the solution. What path does this information need to take and how? Who needs to see or approve it? What happens after this?

Many content management platforms have failed to answer those questions. Also, many systems are difficult and complex and force people to use systems that have no perceived value.

We have set out to change that. Social media has proven the value of bringing people and information closer together in our personal lives but most businesses lack the right tools to allow people to share and collaborate they way the want.

Information management, file sharing and team collaboration should all live together and this is exactly what we’ve created in Xendle. People want to feel they are managing information properly, and they want to easily collaborate.

A single content or information repository platform is the backbone of Xendle. Businesses can store expense reports, project forms, supplier details, product lists, management documents, images, and any other type of file in the platform. We have eliminated the need for folders and sub-folders and allowed for a simple tagging and access system to define any document.

That approach makes the file or document easy to find, and opens the door for easier collaboration with co-workers. We also make it easy to share documents outside of your organisation, and a business can start small with Xendle by setting up our platform inside a department, and spreading it to the rest of the company.

We do not claim that we are killing corporate email, but with all of the technology now available in the workplace, people need a content platform that works for them. We think that platform is Xendle.
